PAUL MCCARTNEY lashed out at the notion that he was in some ways worse than John Lennon because he would branch out on his own. But he pointed out that the Imagine singer did exactly the same thing. Lennon said he was “hurt” by McCartney’s actions. The other members of The Beatles were indifferent.
